Inspired by Annie’s Lifelong Commitment to Learning
Annie Appel believed deeply in the power of education, community, and lifelong learning. Annie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Western Michigan University. A devoted member of Congregation B’nai Jacob in Fort Wayne from 1977 to 2014, Annie served as both a teacher and principal in the religious school while dedicating countless hours to supporting students and families.
After moving to Florida in 2014, Annie and her husband, Dan, became active members of Naples Jewish Congregation, where she continued her commitment to volunteerism, learning, and community through 2025.
The Annie Appel Lifelong Learning Fund was created to honor Annie’s legacy by supporting meaningful educational opportunities, enriching classroom experiences, and bringing people together through lifelong learning.
